An old fusebox is inevitably accompanied by old wiring, neither of which are ideal for the needs of modern living. With an ever-increasing number of appliances and electronic devices in the home, the strain on an older system makes it much less safe than a modern fusebox.
A quick fix is to install a new fusebox, which will be much more sensitive than an older model, tripping out in a fraction of a second and fast enough to prevent electrocution, shutting down a circuit before anything serious happens. Get in touch if you think your home electrics need some attention.
